From June 1-23, 2004, Dee Dee was the teaching assistant for an undergraduate marine ecology course at ECU. During their stay, the group travelled to three main locations: Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, Calabash Caye and Caye Caulker. Cockscomb is home to the worlds only jaguar reserve. While based at Cockscomb, they visited two Mayan ruin sites and went cave tubing. Calabash Caye is the island where Dee Dee conducted her research on fish abundance and biomass. Calabash is part of the Turneffe Atoll which is approximately 32 miles east of Belize City. Caye Caulker is an island north of Calabash where the group relaxed before heading home. There they went to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark and Ray Alley.
